Through
all this time we have been showing you few international organizations which
are against animal abuses and work to stop it. Today, we want to introduce you
a national organization named “Villa Lorena”, this sanctuary is directed by Ana
Julia Torres and it is situated in Cali. This place is a shelter for hundreds of animals rescued largely from drug
traffickers and paramilitary lands, as well as from circuses.
The founder said that “Some of the cruelties I’ve seen make me ashamed
to be a human being”, she is referring to all the damage that the rescued
animals have been victims.
As Torres has made an excellent job, her work has
been recognized internationally by international entities as “Care2 make the difference”
and also by one of the most important newspapers in the world: The New York
Times. The American newspaper published an article dedicated to her life and
love for the animals, it was a complete report written by Simon Romero in March
30, 2010.
